Charles  Darwin believed we are a social and caring species and that kindness, sympathy, empathy, and compassion for all life both human and non-human was the highest moral achievement, although most people associate him with the phrase “Survival of the Fittest” and wrongly assume that he thought humans were ruthless, competitive and selfish in their natural state.

Experiments Demonstrate Response to Feelings

The Institute of Heart Math performed the following experiment which demonstrates how our physical DNA is affected by various emotions.
Human placenta (the most pristine form of DNA) was placed in containers from which the researchers could measure the changes in the DNA. Twenty-eight trained researchers were involved in the experiment.  It was discovered that the DNA changed its shape according to the feelings of the researcher who held the container of DNA. When the researcher FELT gratitude, love and appreciation, the DNA responded by RELAXING and the strands unwound. The length of the DNA became longer. When the researcher FELT anger, fear, frustration or stress, the DNA responded by TIGHTENING UP. It became shorter and SWITCHED OFF many of our DNA codes.

In another experiment researchers at the University of California said that the brains of volunteers lit up when they were (FEELING) rejected in virtually the same way as a person experiencing physical pain, an insult or snub created the same response in the brain as physical pain.

Our physical bodies respond to our emotions and can create health or dis-ease based on the feelings we choose to experience.

Which Response do you Choose?

Scientists say we have about 60,000 – 80,000 thoughts a day and that 95% are the same thoughts we had yesterday and many previous days. And perhaps 80% of those are negative. The good news is, our thoughts aren’t always true. And even better news, we are not our thoughts, we are simply thinking them. Therefore we can choose to change them and in doing so change our mental and physical health.  The research show that thinking new and different thoughts creates new neural pathways and when we choose to think positive thoughts and think them more frequently, the negative neural pathways shrink and the positive neural pathways widen, making it easier and more automatic to think them in the future.

The Silva Method Dynamic Meditation is suitable for people who choose to take an active role in creating the positive thought processes and so create a more positive experience in their life.
