Isn’t it funny that we all agree that our health is our most important asset, yet we ignore the most effective, most enjoyable and least expensive way to improve our health while going to much effort and expense to use something that has pages of side effects that can be harmful to our health and be even life threatening?  Oops, I misspoke.  If it were really funny, it would have some value.  It is really irrational!

I know you have heard the statement, “Laughter is the best medicine”, maybe even said it.  Did you know it is really true?  Even books have been written by people who have cured themselves of fatal diseases through laughter.  So, are you willing to give it a try to help yourself feel better?  If it seems too difficult to find something to laugh about, spend some time with young children.  It’s said they laugh as much as 400 times a day.  Can you remember the last time you really laughed?  Out loud?

1.      Increases antibodies in saliva that combats upper respiratory infections
2.      Secretes an enzyme that protects the stomach from forming ulcers
3.      Conditions the abdominal muscles
4.      Relaxes muscles throughout the body
5.      Aids in reducing symptoms of neuralgia and rheumatism
6.      Changes perspective
7.      Has positive benefits on mental functions
8.      Reduces blood pressure and heart rate
9.      Helps the body fight infection
10.    Releases endorphins which provide natural pain relief
11.    Helps move nutrients and oxygen to body tissues

If that’s not enough to make you reach for the funny pages, I don’t know what will!
